Somewhere they're accessible, but safely nearby is a key instead of out in the middle of BFN where no one looks at it for hours on end allowing it to be destroyed by minions of the blight.

Good point, both circles should be within sight of the outpost encampment. Since this may be the last gathering of the season in Sheridan, locations should be decided upon with haste.

As to the winter, why not find out if you can dock at Shorebreeze or Fort Icewyrm, I know the docks at Shorebreeze can hold a large ship but they don't have a lot of space for multiple ships like Fort Icewyrm does.

The pinnaces are nothing more than glorified fishing vessels. The frigate is my main concern, she's in much need of an overhaul. The two corvettes are in better condition, but without full crews, they are not fit for fighting. The few crew I have left are the loyal ones. Without pay, they remain and find ways to make their own living. Quite resourceful. Supplies have been improving since I returned to Avalon, there is plenty of fish, oysters on the beaches, and game in the forests and vegetation. The high quality wood here would make any from Gandar envious.

Perhaps I should focus on getting one of the corvettes up to seaworthiness. By no means a large ship, not like the Liners, Battleships, and Caravels. I have seen an interesting ship class in Avalon called a 'Sloop'. One of those I'd trade 3 pinnaces for. I will dispatch a message to Shorebreeze and Fort Iceworm. The problem is, that since King Dinitz capitulated to the Niaps demands, I'm not sure if I'd be trusted here as a Montaguese, we did have our run-ins with Barbarians near the Cape of Anticipation.. I'll let you know that me and my men have been outcast from the Montaguese navy and the Merchant Escort ranks. It's a long story, but after what I saw in the troll tunnels last two gatherings, the production of thousands of undead soldiers, I fear the same thing will happen here in the Hinterlands what happened in Montagal and Niap.

Since the defeat of Izzy Thelan Brightstar and destruction of the bottled ships, the waters have flowed quite properly and ships sail high in the water - I know I'm able to take the White Raven from port in January on our annual trip to Myrr with minimal issues around the ice, we've only ever had to use the skates once - this year should be overly crazy what with the political positioning some have taken.

I was quite surprised to find nothing left of Darkenwald but a big crater. Well done on defeating Izzy. I'm sure it was a long intense campaign.

It does sound like you should consolidate your ships and crew, a good fighting ship and one with a good size hold sounds more manageable than having to scuttle a few ships to make ends meet, you might even be able to sell/trade what you have to supply the remaining crew/ships.

I will be satisfied if I can get my ships out of the water and scrape all the weeds and barnacles off the keels. All this drag has reduced max speed to about one half on my ships. Bilge rats have also been getting incredibly big as of late. I cannot understand how they can grow so large.

If I was to keep only two ships, I'd probably combine the best of the two corvettes into one, and turn the frigate into a cargo ship.
